Ein Besuch bei einem demenzkranken Menschen im Heim oder zu Hause kann zu einer kostbaren Begegnung für alle werden. Er braucht nicht viel und kann vieles bewirken. Von dieser Kostbarkeit handeln die Bilder auf diesen Postkarten. Sie sind Einladung zum Besuch und zugleich eine kleine Hilfestellung, sich auch in die Welt der Menschen mit fortgeschrittener Demenz, welche leicht in Vergessenheit geraten, zu begeben. / A visit at a home or at nursing home of patients seriously affected by dementia can be a precious encounter for everybody. It doesn? need much effort and brings about a lot. The pictures on these postcards are about this preciousness. They are invitations for a visit and at the same time assist you to adjourn to the world of people with dementia who are so often forgotten in our society.

Illustrieren bedeutet in einem Kontext zu arbeiten. Beim Arbeiten mit Literatur interessiert mich die Abstraktion. Wie kann ich ein Bild machen, das für einen Film steht, eine Form finden, die ein Gefühl ausdrückt? Wie können Bilder für Themen sein, für die Worte zu schwach oder zu verletzend sind?
Texte selbst sind oft bildhaft und stark. Die Bilder dazu sollen diese begleiten, den Ton des Textes treffen und mit diesem die gleiche Sprache sprechen. Verschiedene Textarten brauchen andere Bildsprachen; ein Hörspiel beeinflusst den Rhythmus des Bilderlesens anders als eine Postkarte zum umdrehen. Gelingen diese Verbindungen, gewinnen der Text, das Bild und der Betrachter.
Diese Art von Bildtextverbindungen sehe ich als mein Forschungsgebiet in dem ich sehr gerne arbeite und mit grossem Interesse weitere Aufträge annehme.

To illustrate means to work in context. When working with literature I am interested in abstraction. How can a picture substitute a film? How can I find a shape that expresses a feeling? How can an image symbolise a topic for which words are insufficient, weak or vulnerable to misinterpretation?
Texts can often be graphic and strong. In accompanying such a text, an image must be as emphatic as the words used and must speak the same visual language. Naturally, different texts require a different language of pictures. A radio play has a different influence on how a picture is read than a simple postcard which has only to be turned over.
Once this link between text and image is successful, both, together with the reader, gain in importance. Combining text with pictures is a field of research I like working in and for which I am interested in receiving further commissions. Please contact digiprimo
